In the last few months, Autodesk has added to
its highly successful Vault product line with
the release of its Autodesk Vault Collaboration
AEC product. Previous versions of Vault
have had support for the Autodesk line of AEC
software including Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAD
Architecture. Vault Collaboration AEC
greatly enhances the existing AEC product
integrations, adds new integrations, and brings
with it a host of other features and
capabilities designed to benefit AEC firms and
users of Autodesk AEC products.
Below are some of the highlights of the product:
·
In addition to the CAD applications listed
above, Vault Collaboration AEC also now fully
supports AutoCAD MEP, Plant 3D and Navisworks.
·
Full support for, and integration with, the
Revit Server.
·
Integration and synchronization with Autodesk
Buzzsaw - featuring the inclusion of Buzzsaw
licenses with Vault subscription, automated
synchronization between Vault and Buzzsaw
folders, and the ability to make files in Vault
available in the field via any Buzzsaw
compatible mobile device.
·
Integration with Microsoft Sharepoint, which
will allow direct access to files in Vault via
Microsoft Sharepoint including federated
searching capabilities so that a single
Sharepoint search can return both Sharepoint and
Vault files.
·
Multisite replication to enable firm-wide
project collaboration and file sharing of all
types of both CAD and non-CAD files
The features and capabilities of Vault Collaboration AEC enable the AEC firm to achieve some, or all, of the following company goals and benefits:
·
Better security and control over data access
including configurable control based on user,
group, role, data location and lifecycle state
·
A central location for all project data
(including important project e-mails) so that
mistakes and misuse of outdated revisions are
eliminated and all company, project partner, and
client personnel are kept on the same page.
·
The ability to capture and track project
milestones and history including a full audit
trail and the ability to seamlessly refer back
to and access older revisions
·
Better control and sharing of standard content
including Revit families and AutoCAD-based
libraries and templates. All standard
content can be searched for and retrieved from
Vault so that all users at all company sites are
using the same updated content.
·
Improved and more efficient use of human
resources across all company offices via Vault’s
multi-site replication. In addition, the
replication will allow company principals
immediate and local access to the latest design
files for all projects from all company offices.
If any of the above features or benefits sounds like they could help your firm, we urge you to contact your local Hagerman office to find out how you can learn more. We hope to hear from you soon!
