Synergis Adept A great choice for
SolidWorks users
As some of you may know, Hagerman & Company recently
became a reseller of the Synergis Adept data management
software package from Synergis Software. We believe that
Adept is a great choice as a data management tool for
SolidWorks users and provides tremendous advantages over
SolidWorks own Enterprise PDM and Workgroup PDM (formerly
PDMWorks) products.

$1,600 per concurrent user with no upfront charge for server
software.
Advanced SolidWorks functionality Some of Adepts
SolidWorks specific features include assembly relationship
management and tracking, where-used, intelligent assembly
copying, file property/titleblock linking, an Adept Task
Pane in SolidWorks and support for SolidWorks
configurations.
Bill of material (BOM) automation - Adept allows
users to automate the creation of an Excel-based flat or
indented BOM from within Adept. In calculating quantities,
Adept considers the BOM status assigned within the CAD
application (e.g.: suppressed, excluded from BOM, BOM
structure of Reference, etc.). SolidWorks users can also
choose to output configuration specific BOM information.
This data can then in turn be used to automatically update a
company ERP system.
Viewing Also included in the above price is the
AutoVue enterprise visualization software which will provide
all desktop and web users full 2D/3D viewing of most CAD
formats without the native CAD software. AutoVues
SolidWorks capabilities include 2D/3D compare, 3D explode,
3D sectioning, interference checking, measurement of
distances, COG, surface areas and mass properties along with
full markup and redlining of both 2D and 3D data. We believe
all this AutoVue viewing functionality (which normally costs
over $1,000 per license by itself) is one of Adepts biggest
advantages over the competition.
Multi-site replication Should you have the need to
share SolidWorks or other files seamlessly and efficiently
between multiple company locations, Adept offers some very
low- cost and effective solutions for multi-site replication
of files and data.
Multi-CAD support If your company also uses CAD
software from Autodesk or Microstation, those CAD platforms
are fully supported along with SolidWorks.
In addition, many SolidWorks users like the fact that Adept
does not move or rename your existing CAD files like so many
other data management systems do. You can simply leave your
current files in place in their current network location
with their current filenames, but still take full advantage
of all the above features.
