While most of our customers use BlueCielo ECM Solutions’ (formerly Cyco Software) Meridian and TeamWork products for basic CAD and general document management along with some workflow, more of our customers and prospects are becoming interested in some of the newer advanced modules and capabilities offered by BlueCielo. These include:

Global Collaboration Framework (GCF) – The GCF module is invaluable for companies that need to share files (especially large CAD files) between multiple company locations. GCF provides multi-site synchronization and replication of files and data so that users at all sites have fast timely local file access and are automatically kept updated on document status and content changes as they occur at all other company locations.

InnoCielo Publisher – This module can automate perform many functions automatically based on the release of documents or other workflow events including publishing of documents to PDF format, e-mailing or plotting of documents, passage of data to ERP or other in-house business systems, publication of documents to FTP servers or other in-house document management systems, etc.

Microsoft Sharepoint Integration – As Sharepoint gains popularity as a low end document sharing tool, BlueCielo saw the need to tie its software to Sharepoint to allow engineers and other users with advanced needs to use their software and then seamlessly make the results available to other users throughout the organization by accessing documents and data via Microsoft Sharepoint.

E-Mail Management – To allow for the automated routing, storage and retrieval of all e-mails and their attachments that relate to a given project, job or customer. BlueCielo’s e-mail management software can monitor Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes e-mail servers and then automatically route e-mails and their attachments to the proper folder in BlueCielo’s Meridian system.

Transmittal Management – To coordinate collaboration, exchange of data and project/job handover with external engineering and manufacturing firms including logging of audit trails, automated reminders and support for all methods of transmittal (paper, CD, e-mail, FTP, etc.)

While the above modules are suitable for companies in all industries and for all types of users and departments, the modules below are targeted toward the facilities engineering market:

Asset Management – BlueCielo’s asset management capabilities include:

bullet

Linking of documents to organizational assets and equipment to create an asset-centric engineering content management environment which provides immediate access to documentation when searching by item properties like functional location, equipment type or equipment/tag number.

bullet

Seamless support and integration with popular maintenance management systems (including Maximo, SAP PM and Datastream) to automate the integration between assets, plant operations and the required technical documentation.

bullet

Secure management of the as-built environment while having the ability to manage multiple engineering projects and their associated technical documents even if some documents are related to multiple projects

Advanced Project Workflow – To enable multiple disciplines along with both internal and external design resources to engineer concurrently across multiple overlapping projects including the ability to track due dates, do progress reporting, perform parallel reviews, receive automatic notification of document changes, set up configurable distribution rules and more.

If any of the above features and capabilities sound like something your organization needs, feel free to contact us for more information or with any questions you might have.
