BlueCielo Releases InnoCielo TeamWork and Meridian 2008

At the beginning of July, BlueCielo ECM Solutions (formerly Cyco Software) released the 2008 versions of its InnoCielo Meridian and InnoCielo TeamWork products. New features of both products include:

  • A new toolbar inside Microsoft Outlook enables storing email messages and their attachments directly into the InnoCielo vault. In InnoCielo, references are automatically created between the e-mail and any of its attachments.

  • The capability to define users and groups in combination with Microsoft Active Directory, facilitating integration in large enterprises. Users and user groups can both be replicated from corporate user data present in Microsoft Active Directory and can be created directly in the InnoCielo Administrator utility without burdening corporate user administration resources.

  • Application support for Microsoft Office 2007, AutoCAD 2009, Autodesk Inventor 2009 and SolidWorks 2008 SP 0.0 – SP 3.1

  • Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008

  • A Microsoft Windows Installer package is now available upon request from the BlueCielo ECM Solutions support department

  • A client-based Data Import Tool which allows the easy importing of batches of documents and their associated metadata (as defined in the documents themselves or an associated spreadsheet). Previously this had to be done in the separate Configurator application.

  • Additional video tutorials for both Meridian and TeamWork

TeamWork now also includes the following features previously only available in Meridian:

  • Content indexing and searching capabilities which works in conjunction with the Microsoft Content Indexer and allows users to search and retrieve AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, PDF and other file types based on their content not just their filenames and properties

  • A Tables function to allow administrators to set up parent-child drop down lists. For example, users could pick a value from a “Customer” drop down list and then have the “Location” drop down list filtered to show only the locations pertaining to the customer just selected

New and updated features of Meridian 2008 include:

  • Folder Types which offers configurable property pages, wizards and commands on folders. The properties of folders are inherited by the documents that they contain. This is similar to what can be done now with field-path relation but allows for much more flexibility in automatically applying properties to documents.

As always, we strongly urge all of our existing customers to contact us before loading any new software update so that we can provide you with the latest information on any known issues or services packs.

If you have questions or need further information, do not hesitate to let us know.
