BlueCielo ECM Solutions (formerly Cyco) News

Over the last few months, there has been a lot of news in this area! First of all in April, Cyco Software announced that they were changing their company name to BlueCielo ECM Solutions. In the name BlueCielo, Cielo is a widely recognizable word that means sky in multiple languages and was chosen because the sky connects people regardless of work culture, time or place. Combining multiple languages in the BlueCielo name demonstrates the companys goal to remove barriers between people in different company departments and locations and connect them in a seamless manner. It also underlines the companys truly international presence and its goal to help clients coordinate and streamline their operations on a worldwide scale.

In conjunction with this name change, the products formerly known as AutoManager Meriidan and AutoManager TeamWork are now known as InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise and InnoCielo TeamWork, with term Inno standing for the word innovation.

The term Engineering Content Management (ECM) describes BlueCielo's software solutions, which enable companies to manage and exchange engineering content drawings, data, technical asset information and related files with the rest of the (extended) organization, including internal departments, contractors, suppliers and customers. In addition at Hagerman & Company, we have found that BlueCielos products work extremely well for the data and document management needs of everyone in an organization including sales, marketing, accounting, quality, upper management and human resources.

One important note is that there is no change in company management or ownership in regard to the name change. In fact, BlueCielo is doing extremely well as a company with sales up 25 percent in 2006 and 45 percent so far in 2007.

In June, BlueCielo released the 2007 version of their Meridian and TeamWork products. New features include:

  • Support for the latest versions of Autodesk and SolidWorks software

  • Support for the latest Microsoft operating systems

  • New content searching and security features

For Meridian users, a new Advanced Document Workflow (ADWF) feature was added. ADWF offers a set of workflow features that can be implemented through configuration. Features such as configurable workflow, parallel review, logging and email notification allow for complex workflow implementations without the need to resort to elaborate custom programming

Other new Meridian-only features include:

  • A high performance option for sites with large vaults and large numbers of users

  • Improved briefcase capabilities including use of the standard Zip format for communicating with outside suppliers, contractors, consultants and other external parties

In addition, a number of new and enhanced add-on products and modules are available for Meridian including:

  • Integration with Sharepoint, Documentum and other enterprise document management software products

  • Integration with other in-house maintenance management, financial and facility management products

  • Global Collaboration Framework (GCF) for multi-site document sharing, collaboration, workflow and replication

  • InnoCielo Publisher for automatic rendering of documents to PDF, DWF, TIF, etc.

We will be holding a series of webinars for both existing and prospective BlueCielo customers. Please go to www.hagerman.com/events for information and to sign up for these webinars.
