AutoCAD MEP 2008 Parametric Parts Wizard

Creating your own parts and you determining sizes within AutoCAD MEP 2008 Parametric Parts Wizard.

From the HVAC pull down menu, select the parametric parts wizard. This option is available under Electrical, Plumbing and Piping profiles.

Under the part type you have different options. Change the part catalog to “pipe.”

When you change the option in the part catalog to “pipe,” the options in the part type will change. Select the Tee template from the list.

Change the Nominal Diameter or ND1 to 1”, ND2 to 1 1/2” and ND3 to 2”. Also, I let D1, D2 and D3 be auto-filled, but you may change it as needed to account for the size of the Nominal Diameter. In earlier versions of ABS, the user was restricted to ND1 and ND2 sharing the same diameter, which only allowed you to change ND3.

Now give it a name and a description, then select OK.  Next, the pipe fittings dialog box will open with the part you created in the catalog.

Place the Tee in your drawing and it’s done.
