AutoCAD Revit® MEP Suite 2008
offers new features for piping, plumbing

If you have to add plumbing and piping equipment into your model the new Connect tool will help you out tremendously.

Let’s say your existing model needs to be added to and you have to add / copy an extra plumbing fixture like the sink below.

We need to select the sink we are adding to the cold, hot and sanitary system in order for the connect tool to work. It will appear in the options bar as long as you have something added to a system.

You will be asked to pick an existing pipe to connect to.

Now, in a matter of seconds you have connected a fixture to your lines with the help of this new Connect tool.

Another shortcut you may like to use is the (F2) button on your keyboard to rename views in your Project Browser.  First, highlight your view by left-clicking your mouse once and then hit your F2 key.  This will work in all Revit software.

You can now select a fitting or piece of the pipe / plumbing layout and change elevation of the whole layout instead of the piece you selected by changing it in the offset in your options bar.
