Autodesk Revit Structure 4: Design using the Truss Wizard

Begin with a beam on your drawing to use in your Truss Wizard. (Truss Wizard is located in your Tools menu)

Select the style of truss you'd like to create.

Adjust what you need as you go through the steps.

Your truss will look something like this when you're done.

If you need to change anything about the truss afterwards, select the truss and Select EDIT GROUP from your options area.

Now, you can manually edit all parts of your truss. I changed my webbing to W8x10 instead of the original W12x26. (You can change out these items with any of the items that are in use or are oaded into your drawing, so you may need to load more items depending on what you need to use.) Remember to select FINISH after you're done.

Now, let’s create a Gusset Plate. Select your modeling tab from the Design Bar, then Create, select structural framing, Name it "Gusset," and now select solid form / solid extrusion. Draw the plate to your specifications, and add the extruded thickness in your options or properties. I added bolts to the plate for extra detail.

Finish your plate or plates, and you're done with a custom truss for your structural building.
