ABS 2007: Rendering lights that work

When rendering electrical light devices, one of the issues that comes up is they do not generate any…light. With ABS 2007,  the basic rendering capabilities supplied by AutoCAD begin to address this. Light devices can be brought in to a library drawing, and, using the AutoCAD Dashboard, point and spotlights can be overlaid directly on top of each one.

It is then a simple process to make a block of each pair, and save the drawing as a library drawing.

The blocks can then be inserted (exploding on insert) or brought in with the design center, instead of using the device palette under electrical.  If you wish, you can insert the blocks in your own palette.

Then, simply align the view you wish to capture, reposition the spotlights if you wish, and render.
