2006 Cyco
AutoManager product offers improvements
Much has happened since the last report on Cyco’s AutoManager Meridian
and TeamWork systems. Latest news on these products includes the recent
release of Cyco AutoManager Meridian/TeamWork 2006.
New features of both Meridian and TeamWork include:
-Support for CAD applications up to and including AutoCAD® 2007,
Autodesk Inventor® 11 SP1, SolidWorks 2006 SP4.1 and Microstation V8.5
(Note: Synchronizing properties to AutoCAD DWG files older than version
2004 is no longer supported).
-Numerous general AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Microstation and
Microsoft Office integration improvements.
-Improved viewing including support for DWG TrueView, redlining with
Cimmetry’s AutoVue and a new Advanced Microstation viewer.
-Reduced memory consumption and improved system performance and speed
(especially on searches).
New Meridian-only features include:
-An improved Office User license that provides all of the functionality
of the Power User (except for CAD integration) at a much lower price
than the current Power User.
-Document content indexing to allow search and retrieval of files based
on their contents, not just their filenames and AutoManager properties.
-The ability to set up parent-child lookup lists and the creation of
direct links to and from Microsoft Access and other databases right in
the Configurator rather than requiring external Visual Basic
customization.
-Linking to external Web pages and the creation of custom Meridian
desktop and web-based document property pages based on Active Server
Pages (ASP).
These are just a few of the highlights. Numerous other features and
enhancements are included in both AutoManager Meridian and TeamWork
2006. Feel free to contact us for more information.
Cyco International Conference
Earlier this month, Andrew Hagerman, regional manager, Hagerman &
Company, and I attended the Cyco International User/Reseller Conference
in Atlanta. A number of Hagerman & Company customers attended as well.
In fact, Hagerman & Company boasted the largest number of customer
attendees of any reseller at the conference.
Besides learning more about AutoManager 2006, other highlights of the
conference included:
-Keynote speech by Cyco CEO Martijn Janmaat in which he described Cyco’s
corporate and product directions, recent major customer wins and Cyco’s
recent double-digit sales growth.
-Discussion of new, updated and soon-to-be-released AutoManager software
modules including AutoManager Publisher, Global Collaboration Framework
(for multi-site usage), Microsoft Sharepoint integration and
integrations with other document, facilities and maintenance management
packages.
-Numerous technical sessions designed to help customers get the most out
of their AutoManager software.
-Customer presentations on their firms’ usage of and experiences with
Cyco AutoManager. Presenters included Hagerman & Company customer Jarrod
Osborn of ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Foundry.
-CyConnect International Users Group: Also announced at the conference
was the formation of CyConnect, the new official independent
organization of Cyco product users. CyConnect’s goal is to provide its
members with peer-to-peer communications and support and to act as a
customer voice to Cyco Software.
The organization is currently headed by Hagerman & Company, Inc.
customer Joe Norton of International Truck and Engine (Navistar).
Membership is free, and we would encourage all of our customers to join.
