Design Accelerator Preview Tools

Design Accelerator Preview Tools for Inventor are Here!

Well, it’s been about 8 months now, and I know that a number of people have been asking, “What about the MechSoft® Acquisition?” I can tell you now that it is finally here. Autodesk has introduced a preview of the Design Accelerator tools. I understand that many of you are thinking that this is great news, but what do they mean by “preview”? More about that later:

What does this mean for us end users? Well, you are going to have a new set of tools at your fingertips; the types of tools that are going to assist you in creating your components based on their function as opposed to their form. These include Mechanical calculators to assist in making strength calculations for weld and solder joints.

Also there are many Component generators that will aid in creating parts based upon real world figures, such as gear generators that allow the engineer to create gears based on its application ratios and loading information. There is also a bolted connection generator. This tool will allow the user to specify all the components of a bolted connection, then it will present the engineer with the calculation on whether or not the connection will work.

These items and more are all included in this preview of the Design Accelerator tools. Now back to the question about what is meant by Preview version.

This preview version is only available to those customers that have purchased the Subscription program with their Inventor® software. Design Accelerator is an add-in for Inventor itself.  This means that these tools can be used by a company that uses either Inventor Series or Inventor Professional. Those customers on Subscription can download the Design Accelerator from www.autodesk.com/subscription.

Contact a member of the Hagerman & Company sales team for more information on Inventor Series, Inventor Professional, Subscription, and the all new Design Accelerator.  Email us at marketing@hagerman.com or call us toll free (800) 422-0313.
